Problems we recover from

What to do before you bring it in
- Stop using it straight away. Every attempt to use it can overwrite or damage the data.
- Do not run CHKDSK, Disk Utility First Aid or recovery software on a device that is noisy or slow.
- Do not open the device. Opening a hard drive outside a clean room destroys the platters.
- Do not format or initialise it, even if Windows or macOS asks you to.
How external hard drive data recovery works
- Free evaluation: we diagnose the fault (logical, firmware or physical).
- Fixed quote before any recovery work starts.
- Safe imaging: we copy the device sector by sector with PC-3000, in our Class 100 clean room when the drive must be opened, and work only from the copy.
- Your data back on a new drive or USB, checked with you first. No data, no fee on eligible recoveries.
